Q : How much does the online or the DVD program cost?
A :  DVD course fee varies: $29.99-$39.99 ONLINE: $29.99
Unlike other defensive driving courses who apply hidden costs and assessment fees in addition to their advertised price, our prices are the TOTAL costs for our defensive driving programs. After successful completion of your course your certificates will be mailed out using US Postal Mail Service. Normal certificate delivery time is 5 - 7 business days after course completion. We do offer over-night and two-day delivery with UPS for an extra fee.

Q : How do I register for ONLINE DEFENSIVE DRIVING COURSE?
A : You may register for the online course HERE or click on the REGISTER Button. If you register for the online course you can begin immediately.
   
Q :  How do I register for the DEFENSIVE DRIVING DVD COURSE?
A : You’ll need to pick up the DVD from one of our State Approved Locations or have one delivered to your door. To order your copy, call us with your information at (800) 397-1898. Our hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. Or come by one of these state approved locations with your driver’s license, court information and license plate # of a vehicle that is register to you or someone in your home.
   
Q : Do I actually have to watch the DVD 6 hours in a row?
A : No. Our Texas Defensive Driving DVD Course can be taken at your convenience, you can stop and start whenever you wish, and can take the class in one day or over the course of several days if you prefer.
   
Q : Where do I pick up my defensive driving DVD course?
A : You can pick up your DVD course at one of these Approved Locations. Be sure to ask for the Defensive Driving Institute brand. You will be asked to show a driver’s license, court information and the license plate number of a vehicle that is registered to you or someone in your home.
   
Q : How does the 6-hour Texas Online Defensive Driving course work?
A : The 6-hour Texas Online Defensive Driving course is primarily text-based with some simple multiple-choice review questions. You may log in and out of the course at your convenience, and you may go over previously completed sections if you wish. Once you complete the final set of review questions, you will be presented different options for the method you wish to receive your Certificate of Completion. Most people choose First Class Mail, which is free and is normally delivered within 5 - 7 business days, but you may also choose to have your Certificate sent UPS:

Q : How does the 6-hour Texas DVD program work?
A : The 6-hour course can be stopped and started at your own pace and though-out the program the instructors on the DVD will tell you to stop the DVD and call our toll free number to answer a few questions. You can call anytime 24/7 to answer questions and customer support is available 24/7 by calling 1-800-460-1398. A total of 7 calls will be made while watching the DVD course.
   
Q : Are there any late fees for the DVD?
A : Normally no late fess apply however, if you have checked the DVD out from your local library or a local driving school and it isn’t returned by your check-in date, you may be charged a small fee. If you purchased the defensive driving DVD you can take up to 90 days to complete the course and no late fees will apply.
   
Q : What should I do with the DVD after I have completed the defensive driving course?
A : If you checked it out from your local library or a local driving school, please return it so that no late fees will apply. If you purchased the DVD it is yours to keep, you do not have to return it. Keep it for next time, and call us to register when you need it again. You may qualify for a discount.
   
Q :  What if I don’t pass my final exam?
A : You have a total of three attempts at passing your final exam. Whether you are completing an online or a DVD Defensive Driving Course you can call us and we will arrange for you to re-attempt at passing.

Q : Both me and my best friend have traffic tickets, if I buy one DVD does my friend also have to pay or can we both take the defensive driving DVD course for the price of one?
A : Both have to pay and register for the program. You can however, both watch one DVD and when you are prompted to call the toll-free number to answer questions, each of you will have to make your separate calls to answer your separate questions.
   
Q :  When and how will I receive my Defensive Driving Completion Certificate?
A : At the end of the course your T.E.A. Certificate of Completion will be sent to you FREE via First Class US Mail (normal delivery will take 5 - 7 business days.) You’ll receive two certificates one will be marked ‘Court Copy’ and the other ‘Insurance Copy’

Q :  Is the online and DVD defensive driving course approved by TEA?
A : Yes, all of the defensive driving courses offered are TEA and Texas State Approved and accepted in all counties and courts in Texas. Upon successful completion you can submit your ‘Court’ certificate to the court and have your citation dismissed.
   
Q : How will you know it is me taking the course and not someone else?
A : You are taking the defensive driving course under penalty of perjury. We assume most people would not commit a crime by letting someone else take the course for them. Additionally, to verify your participation we do ask several personal identification questions upon registration that will also appear on the review questions.
   
Q : I don’t want to pay using a credit card, can I start my online program now and pay later?
A : Yes. You can mail us either a check or money order, upon receiving payment we will mail out the certificate. If you prefer, call us toll-free with your credit card info and a live operator will take your payment information over the phone.
   
Q : How can I pay for my online defensive driving course?
A : The online course can be paid with any major Credit Card online during the online registration process or with a bank/debit card that has a Credit Card logo on it. You can also call 1-800-667-1724 and a live operator will take your payment information over the phone.

  If you mail in your payment, please be sure to include your name, driver’s license # and a telephone number where you may be reached during the day so that we can contact you to complete the registration.
   
Q : While visiting Texas I received a traffic ticket, will your course still keep the points off of my driving record?
A : Whether or not you should take the class depends on which state you live in. In some states the points will not carry over to your License from a ticket received in Texas , and in others only some of the points will carry over. Please check first with your local DMV or the Clerk of the Court of your County to confirm that the points from the Texas ticket will in fact apply to your license. If they do, you may take the class with us to prevent the points from being placed on your license.
   
Q : Do I need any type of special computer requirements to take the online defensive driving course?
A :  No. As long as you can use a computer with Internet access, you can take our online defensive driving course.
   
Q : Do I need a DSL/Broadband connection to take the online defensive driving course?
A : No. The course was created with the dial-up user in mind. Of course, DSL or broadband is a faster connection but your experience will be excellent even with a dial-up connection.
   
Q : Do I have to download any videos for the online defensive driving course?
A : No. The entire content of the Online Defensive Driving course streams from our servers and there is nothing to download.
   
Q :  Can I use a Macintosh computer to do the Texas Online Defensive Driving course?
A : Yes, you can use a Macintosh computer.
   
Q : Can I complete the Texas Online Defensive Driving course from more than one computer? For example, at home and at the office or even school or the library? Can I work on it from a friend's house?
A : Yes. Yes. Yes. We do not track which computer you are on. You may do the Texas Online Defensive Driving course from any computer with Internet access. You can log back on from any computer using the username and password you assigned yourself during registration.
   
Q :  I don't have a computer. Can I still take the 6-hour Texas Online Defensive Driving course?
A : Yes, you may use a computer at a public library, civic center, senior center or any other place that allows you to use a computer that has Internet access. You can click HERE to start your online course.
   
Q : What happens if my computer crashes while I am in the middle of the Texas Online Defensive Driving course? Will I lose all of my progress and answers?
A : Our program allows you to start and stop even in the middle of a program part. Our servers will capture up to the last page you completed if your computer crashes. When you log back in you will be taken back to the spot where you were logged off or lost connections.
   
Q : Do I need a printer to take the Texas Online Defensive Driving?
A : No, you do not need a printer. Everything is done on our servers and your Certificate of Completion is mailed to you First Class at no extra charge At registration you will have the option to have your Certificate send UPS for an additional fee.
   
Q : Do I need an E-Mail address to enroll, and do you track which computer I am working on from my E-Mail address?
A : No, you do not need an E-Mail address. If you are registering online, you may simply leave the e-mail address field blank. We do not track what computer you work from. The reason we ask for the email address is so we can send you a confirmation on your registration and completion, but it isn’t a necessary field.
   
Q : I am new to the Internet. Is this online course difficult?
A : No, not at all. We have designed this course for beginners and you don’t need special computer skills. If you need assistance we are also available to help you via telephone or E-Mail.
   
Q : Is the Texas Online Defensive Driving course available in Spanish?
A : Yes, our defensive driving course is available in Spanish. For the online course in Spanish, just click on the button that says: oprima aqui para espanol, you will be directed to our Spanish language course.
